Prepare before arriving
Confirm the current depot address, opening hours, pickup time and documents required by Wicked. Review the booking and leave time for the vehicle handover before any onward commitments.
Walk around the camper with staff and ensure existing damage or concerns are recorded through the operator’s process. Ask how to contact Wicked if an issue arises, and resolve anything you do not understand before accepting the vehicle.
A handover is a chance to practise
Take turns with the people who will actually operate the setup. Ask for a demonstration, then try the same steps yourself while the staff member can point out anything you missed.
Before driving away, put your questions and the operator’s contact details somewhere everyone can find. If equipment or condition information does not match what you were given, raise it during the inspection.
Practise setting up camp
Ask staff to demonstrate the sleeping arrangement and safe storage for travel. Practise the sequence while you have someone available to answer questions.
A handover is more useful when the people who will share the work can take part. If one person will drive and another will arrange the bed, both can ask questions about their part of the trip. Check how to operate unfamiliar controls while the vehicle is still at the depot.
Before leaving, compare the items and condition information supplied by Wicked with what you can see. If something is missing or unclear, raise it at the handover instead of relying on an assumption about what should be included.
- Find the sleeping equipment.
- Set up the sleeping space with guidance.
- Pack it away and secure it for travel.
- Confirm where other equipment belongs.
Take the return requirements seriously
Ask where the return inspection takes place and what happens if your arrival time changes. Understand the fuel and cleanliness requirements stated in the agreement, and check how to report a vehicle problem during the hire.
Build your last day around the confirmed return time. Allow for fuel, traffic and the time needed to unload your belongings, with an alternative if an unexpected delay affects the schedule.
Understand the return
Confirm the return depot, deadline and vehicle condition, fuel or cleaning requirements in the agreement. Keep the booking information and operator contacts accessible.
Should I check the roads at pickup?
Confirm your planned roads with Wicked and check current official conditions before departure.
Before booking, check your specific route and the current vehicle rental agreement. Search and booking continue with Wicked Campers Australia.
